Section 02 / Symptoms

What is it doing?

Describe the problem the way you experience it. The diagnosis works backward from the symptom to the actual cause.

SYM-01 Slow, freezing, or crashing A failing drive, low memory, Windows corruption, heat, or hardware instability can all feel like the computer is getting old. We test before recommending an upgrade or replacement. SYM-02 Will not turn on No lights, no fan, no vibration, or no response. The cause can be a power supply, charging circuit, battery, or motherboard fault, and those need very different repairs. SYM-03 Will not charge A damaged port, worn DC jack, bad battery, USB-C negotiation issue, or charging circuit can produce the same complaint. We identify which one before parts are ordered. SYM-04 Will not boot or startup errors Stuck logos, Windows repair loops, blue screens, missing drives, and repeated restarts can come from storage, software, memory, or hardware. SYM-05 Cracked, flickering, or dead screen Phones, laptops, and tablets can fail at the glass, display panel, cable, connector, or backlight circuit. The correct repair starts with knowing which one. SYM-06 Overheating or shutting down Loud fans, high temperatures, thermal throttling, random shutdowns, and restarts under load are tested under real use instead of guessed at. SYM-07 Liquid damage Power the device off and do not charge it. Liquid residue can continue corroding the board after the outside looks dry. Early cleaning gives the repair the best chance. SYM-08 No display or HDMI problem A computer or console can be running normally while the display path has failed. Screens, cables, HDMI ports, connectors, and board circuitry are checked before anything is replaced.

Section 03 / Capability

Everyday repair first. Board-level repair when needed.

Most repairs do not need a microscope. Some do. The advantage of an in-house diagnostic bench is that the repair does not have to stop when the fault reaches the motherboard.

01

Everyday computer repair

Windows problems, failing drives, batteries, keyboards, screens, hinges, fans, hardware faults, tune-ups, and general troubleshooting.

02

Phone repair and stocked parts

Routine phone repairs remain part of the shop: screens, batteries, charging issues, cameras, speakers, and common hardware faults. Most are finished the same day when the part is in stock.

03

Upgrades and data

SSD, NVMe and RAM upgrades, data migration, operating-system work, custom PC upgrades, and recovery planning.

04

Motherboard and logic-board repair

When Apple or another shop says the motherboard needs replacement, we can diagnose below the board level and repair failed power circuits, charging circuits, connectors, traces, and components when practical.

Section 05 / Process

How a repair runs

Straightforward from intake to pickup. Nothing is repaired before you know what failed and approve the price.

Step 01

Bring it in

Book online, call, or text, then bring the device to the Massapequa shop. The condition and reported symptoms are documented at intake.

Step 02

Diagnose

The device is tested based on the symptom. The $40 diagnostic is credited toward the approved repair.

Step 03

Review the options

You receive the actual fault, the repair price, and any practical alternatives before work begins. If replacement makes more sense than repair, you will be told that.

Step 04

Repair, test, pick up

Approved work is completed and tested under real use. You receive an update when the device is ready for pickup.

Section 06 / Pricing

Clear diagnosis before the repair

Simple repairs can often be quoted from the model and symptom. More complex faults are diagnosed first so the price is based on what actually failed, not on the most expensive possible part.

$40

Diagnostic

Paid upfront and credited toward an approved repair. Covers the diagnostic work required to identify the fault.

$150 to $350+

Motherboard repair

Component-level power, charging, connector, trace, and circuit repair. Final price depends on the fault and damage found.

By model

Screens and common parts

Price depends on the exact model and part. Call or text with the model for a current quote. Common phone screens and parts may already be in stock.

For SSD and RAM upgrades, Windows work, batteries, charging ports, custom PC work, and repairs not listed here, call or text for a model-specific quote.

Section 07 / Trade

For other repair shops

If you run a repair shop and a motherboard, port, no-power, or microsoldering job falls outside your normal scope, Benjamin's Computer Repair accepts trade and overflow work.

Your customer remains your customer. You receive the diagnosis and completed bench work while we stay behind the scenes.

Section 09 / Questions

Before you book

Do you repair normal computer problems, or only motherboard issues?

Both. Most work is the same kind of repair people expect from a full-service computer shop: slow computers, Windows problems, screens, batteries, keyboards, charging issues, SSDs, RAM, overheating, data, and hardware faults. Motherboard repair is the additional capability for problems that go deeper.

Do you repair phones?

Yes. We repair iPhone, Samsung, Google, Motorola, and other phones and tablets. Screen, battery, charging, no-power, liquid-damage, and board-level issues are all handled. Common screens and parts are kept in stock, so most phone repairs are same day, with fast turnaround on tablets. A less common model can need a special-order part.

Apple or another shop said I need a new motherboard. Can you check it?

Yes. A board-replacement quote does not always mean the entire board is bad. We can diagnose the board at component level and determine whether the failed circuit or component can be repaired instead.

What does the $40 diagnostic cover?

The diagnostic covers the testing needed to identify the fault and is credited toward the repair if you approve the work. You receive the problem, price, and options before repair work begins.

How long does diagnosis take?

Most diagnostics are completed within 1 to 3 business days after intake. Repair time depends on the fault and part availability, and the expected timeline is provided with the quote.

Is the repair covered afterward?

Qualifying repairs include a one-year warranty covering parts and labor. Liquid-damaged devices are excluded, and board-level repairs are warranted for the specific component or circuit repaired.
