Diagnostic
Paid upfront and non-refundable, and credited toward the repair if you approve it. Used for faults that need teardown and internal testing.
Motherboard repair
Component-level power, charging, connector, trace, and circuit repair. Depends on the circuit and damage found.
Screens, batteries, ports and upgrades
Quoted by exact model, part, and scope of work. Common phone-screen stock can be confirmed by call or text. SSD, RAM and PC upgrades are quoted with parts and labor together, after compatibility and the intended improvement are confirmed.

What changes the price
Two devices with the same symptom can cost very different amounts to repair. These are the things that decide it.
Exact model and part cost
Screens, batteries, keyboards, and other model-specific parts can vary widely between devices.
What actually failed
A port, a battery, a software fault, and a board circuit can create similar symptoms but require very different work.
Damage and prior work
Liquid corrosion, torn pads, missing components, and previous repair attempts all add repair scope.

About the money
Why is there a diagnostic fee?
Because diagnosis is skilled work that identifies the actual fault before money is spent on parts. It is paid upfront and non-refundable, and credited toward the repair if you approve it. Basic in-store checks are free.
Is there a charge just to look at it?
No. Basic in-store checks such as a visual inspection and preliminary power testing are done at no charge. The $40 diagnostic applies when a device needs teardown and more extensive internal testing to find the fault.
Can you quote a phone screen or battery before I come in?
Usually, yes. Call or text with the exact model. We can give current pricing and confirm whether the part is in stock.
Another shop quoted a whole motherboard. Can you quote a repair instead?
A board-level price normally requires diagnosis, because the failed circuit has to be identified first. The published board-repair range gives the general level, and the final number comes after diagnosis.
Is the repair covered afterward?
Qualifying repairs include a one-year warranty covering parts and labor. Liquid-damaged devices are excluded. Motherboard and board-level repairs are warranted for the specific component or circuit repaired. Warranty coverage does not apply to subsequent failures caused by physical damage, misuse, liquid exposure, improper use, or lack of reasonable device maintenance.
