Upgrade the part that is actually holding the computer back.
A computer that feels slow does not automatically need replacement. We measure storage, memory, CPU and GPU load, thermals, and system health first, then recommend the upgrade that will make a real difference, or tell you when a new computer makes more sense.
Section 01 / What we install
Computer upgrades and installations
Parts supplied and fitted, or fitted if you have already bought them. Compatibility is checked before anything is installed.
SSD and NVMe upgrade
The biggest improvement for many computers still running from a mechanical hard drive or an older, smaller SSD. Data and Windows can often be migrated to the new drive. UPG-02RAM upgrade
More memory for multitasking, larger applications, browser-heavy workloads, and systems that are constantly running out of available RAM. UPG-03Graphics card
Gaming, rendering, and GPU-accelerated workloads, with power-supply and case compatibility checked first. UPG-04Cooling and fans
Fan replacement, thermal service, cooler upgrades, and airflow improvements for loud or hot systems. UPG-05Power supply
Replacement for failed or unstable units, or an upgrade needed to support higher-power components. UPG-06Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and networking
Desktop and compatible laptop network-card upgrades and replacements. UPG-07Windows and OS installation or migration
Clean installs, repairs, new-drive migration, and setup after hardware upgrades. UPG-08Custom PC builds
When a new system is the better answer, it is specified around what you actually need the computer to do.Section 02 / Method
Measure first, then buy
Most money wasted on upgrades is spent on the wrong part. The machine is measured first so the money goes where the limit actually is.
Find the bottleneck
Watch what reaches its limit during the work you actually do, rather than guessing from the spec sheet.
Check compatibility
Memory type, storage interface, GPU clearance, power supply, firmware, and other limits.
Check power and cooling
Faster parts need enough power and enough heat removal.
Install and verify
Test stability and temperatures under real load after the upgrade.
Section 03 / Worth it or not
When an upgrade is the wrong answer
Section 04 / Machines
What we upgrade
Desktops have the most headroom. Laptops are more limited, but memory and storage are replaceable on many, and compatible Mac and older Apple systems can be upgraded where the hardware allows.
Section 05 / Questions
Before you book
My computer is slow. What should I upgrade?
That is what the measurement answers. Storage and memory are common limits, but not every slow computer needs the same part.
Can I supply my own parts?
Yes. Send us the exact model and part information before buying when possible, so compatibility can be checked. Customer-supplied parts are tested as part of installation, but warranty coverage may differ from shop-supplied parts.
Is it worth upgrading or should I just buy a new machine?
We compare the cost of the upgrade against the age, capability, and remaining limits of the system. If the money is better put toward a new computer, we will say so.
Will I lose my files or have to reinstall everything?
Not normally. When the existing drive is healthy enough, Windows and data can often be cloned or migrated to the new storage, so the computer returns with the same user files and setup.
Can laptops be upgraded at all?
More often than people think. Memory and storage are upgradeable on a great many laptops, and those are the two components most likely to be the limit anyway. Some thin models solder both down, which is worth confirming for your specific machine before you write it off.
What does it cost?
Quoted per job, since it depends on the part and how much work the machine needs to take it. You get the parts, the labor, and the total before anything is ordered. Call or text with your model and what you are trying to improve and you can get a number quickly.
Book
Bring the computer in for an upgrade plan.
Tell us what feels slow, or what you want the computer to do better. We will measure the machine before recommending parts. $40 diagnostic credited toward approved work.
